CHINESE UNICODE TRUETYPE FONTS

Now TwinBridge offers two Chinese TrueType fonts that conform to the Unicode code font standard because Unicode is becoming more and more popular in various applications. These two Unicode fonts are designed for TwinBridge users. They can help the use of Chinese in Unicode applications like MS Office and Internet browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Communicator. Please prepare a place on your hard disk to store the downloaded files. Now click one of the following buttons to download Unicode fonts. After you download it, please go on reading the following to install and use the Unicode TrueType fonts.

INSTALL CHINESE UNICODE FONTS INTO YOUR WINDOWS

  1. There are two self-extracting EXE files. Locate the file(s) on your hard drive and double click the EXE file to begin installation. When prompted, enter the password we e-mail you.
  2. Run TSCFMFNT.EXE to install Traditional Chinese font  ("TSC FMing S TT").
  3. Run TSCJSFNT.EXE to install Simplified Chinese font ("TSC JSong S TT").
  4. A PASSWORD is necessary for the installation of the fonts. Please find it in the Email from us.
  5. When the installation is completed, restart your computer.

 

HOW TO USE CHINESE UNICODE FONTS WITH CHINESE PARTNER AND MS OFFICE 97/2000/XP

  1. Start TwinBridge Chinese Partner 5.0 trial version.
  2. Turn on the "Posting Unicode" feature by click the Setting button of the Input prompt line.
  3. Select BIG5 code mode and Chinese font "TSC FMing S TT" to input traditional Chinese characters.
  4. Select GB code mode and Chinese font "TSC JSong S TT" to input simplified Chinese characters.

Documents created in Post Unicode mode are fully compatible with the Far East version of Office 97/2000/XP/2010.

 

HOW TO USE CHINESE UNICODE FONTS WITH INTERNET BROWSERS

There are many Chinese encoding schemes used on the Internet. Installing the Unicode Chinese fonts will help you to view Chinese contents on the Web.

For Netscape Communicator 4.0, 4.5 and 4.6

  1. Run the Navigator program in Communicator.
  2. From the menu bar, select Edit, Preferences.
  3. In the Category panel, select Appearance, Fonts.
  4. In the "For the Encoding" list, select "Traditional Chinese" or "Simplified Chinese."
  5. In the "Variable Width Font" and the "Fixed Width Font" lists, select "TSC FMing S TT" for traditional font or "TSC JSong S TT" for simplified font.
  6. Click OK to exit.
  7. From the menu bar, select View. In the "Encoding" lists, select "Traditional Chinese(Big5)" or "Simplified Chinese(GB2312)."

For Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 and 4.0

  1. Run MS Internet Explorer.
  2. From the menu bar, select View, Options.
  3. Click the "Font" button in the lower right corner
  4. In the "Character Sets" list, select "Chinese(Traditional)" or "Chinese(Simplified)."
  5. In the "Proportional Font" and the "Fixed Width Font" lists, select "TSC FMing S TT" for traditional font or "TSC JSong S TT" for simplified font.
  6. Click OK to exit.
  7. From the menu bar, select View. In the "Fonts" lists, select "Chinese Traditional(Big5)" or "Chinese Simplified(GB2312)."

For Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0

  1. Run MS Internet Explorer 5.0.
  2. From the menu bar, select Tools, Internet Options.
  3. Click the "Font" button at the bottom of the sheet.
  4. In the "Language script" list, select "Chinese(Traditional)" or "Chinese(Simplified)."
  5. In the "Web page font" and the "Plain test font" lists, select "TSC FMing S TT" for traditional font or "TSC JSong S TT" for simplified font.
  6. Click OK to exit.
  7. From the menu bar, select View. In the "Encoding" list, select "Chinese Traditional(Big5)" or "Chinese Simplified(GB2312)."
